Multi-day pricing calculation

When offering a multi-day service, you have the flexibility to decide how the price is calculated based on the number of days and the quantity your customer selects.

BookX offers three pricing models to suit different service types. Here’s a breakdown of each option with examples to help you choose the right one.

1. Price based on default quantity: The quantity stays fixed, no matter how many days the customer selects.

The total price remains the same regardless of the duration (number of days).

Ideal for fixed-price services where duration doesn’t impact cost.

Example: If your service is priced at $100 per quantity. Customers book 3 days → Quantity stays 1. Total price = $100.

2. Price based on days booked: The quantity updates automatically based on how many days are selected.

The price increases with the number of days, perfect for services charged per day.

Example: If charge $50/day for your rental. Customers book 3 days → Quantity becomes 3. Total price = 3 x $50 = $150

3. Price based on quantity multiplied by days: The price is calculated by multiplying both the quantity of items and the number of days booked.

Best for hotels rooms, bike or rental items where both time and quantity impact the cost.

Example: If you charge $120/night for room booking. Customer books 2 rooms for 4 nights. Total = 2 x 4 = 8 room-nights. Prices = 8 x $120 = $960.

Single-day pricing for overnight bookings (Optional): If you choose “Price based on days booked”, you can also enable “ Single-day pricing for overnight bookings”.

This allows you to charge for just one day when the booking includes an overnight stay (like a typical hotel check-in/ check-out model).

Example: If a customer check in Dec 24 at 2 PM & checks out on Dec 25 at 2 PM. Instead of charging for 2 days, they’re charged for 1 day only.
