BookX gives you flexible payment options so you can decide when and how customers pay for your services. Depending on your business needs, you can collect the full amount upfront, take a partial deposit, or allow customers to pay later.
You can enable all three payment methods or choose any combination of two, depending on how you want customers to complete their bookings.
This guide explains the available payment options and shows how to configure full payment, partial payment (Deposit), and book now, pay later for your services.
Available Payment Options
BookX supports three different payment methods:
- Full payment: Customers pay the entire service cost at the time of booking.
- Partial payment (Deposit): Customers pay a partial amount to confirm the booking and complete the remaining balance later. You can define the initial amount and due date.
- Book now, pay later: Customers can book the service without making any payment and pay later.
How to Set Full Payment
- Go to the Services page and select your preferred service.
- Then, go to the Payment & Deposit page.
- Under Payment options, ensure Full payment is enabled.
- Optionally, you can change the name, label, and description.
- Optionally, you can enable Set payment discount to offer a discount.
- Choose the discount type:
- Percentage: Apply a percentage-based discount
- Fixed: Apply a fixed discount amount
- Click Save to apply the changes.
How to Set Partial paymen
- Go to the Services page and select your preferred service.
- Then, go to the Payment & Deposit page.
- Under Payment options, enable the Partial payment option.
- Optionally, you can change the name, label, and description.
- Set the initial deposit amount (percentage or fixed amount).
- Choose the balance due type:
- On arrival: Payment is due when the service starts
- X days after checkout date: Set the number of days after booking
- Fixed date: Select a specific due date
- Optionally, you can enable Set payment discount to offer a discount.
- Select the discount type:
- Percentage: Apply a fixed discount amount
- Fixed: Apply a fixed discount amount
Note: The partial payments are calculated from the discounted price of your service. Discounts cannot be enabled if the balance due type is set to On arrival.
- Click Save to complete the setup.
How to Set Book now, pay later
- Go to the Services page and select your preferred service.
- Then, go to the Payment & Deposit page.
- Enable the Book now, pay later option.
- Optionally, you can change the label and description.
- Enable Create Shopify order if you want Book now, pay later bookings to appear in the Shopify Orders page.
- Click Save to complete the setup.
Note: You can control how pay later bookings appear on the Shopify Orders page by going to BookX Settings > Booking Settings. These bookings can be displayed as either Paid or Pending.
