When setting up your service in BookX, it’s important to choose the right service type that aligns with how your service is delivered.
BookX gives you the flexibility to configure your booking in three different ways:
- Regular - for services with short sessions (e.g., 15 mins, 30 mins, 1 hour, 2 hours).
- Full-day - for full-day services.
- Multi-day - for services that span multiple days.

Each service type is tailored to suit different types of business. This user guide will walk you through each service type and show you how to set them on your Shopify store.
Regular Slot Configuration
Ideal for services like consultations, coaching sessions, salon appointments, equipment rentals, or any service booked by the hour or minute.
What your customers will see: Customers will select from available time slots on your booking calendar.

How to set regular slots
1. Under Service Type, select “Regular”.
2. To create time slots, click “Generate Time Slot”.
3. Set the start time and end time.

4. Set the service duration (e.g., 15 mins, 30 mins, 1 hour).
5. Select the days these time slots should apply to.
6. Click “Generate” to create slots.
Additional Notes:
- Use “Add a Slot” to manually create an additional time slot.
- To bulk add slots: Click “Generate Time Slots”, adjust the start/end time, select “Add to existing time slots”, and click “Generate”.
- To replace all existing slots: Click “Generate Time Slots”, update the start and end time, select “Replace existing time slots”, and click “Generate”.
Full-Day Slot Configuration
Ideal for day tours, day-long equipment rentals, or services that run the entire day
What your customers will see: Customers will book your service by selecting a full day from the calendar. No specific time slots are shown.

How to set full-day slots
1. Under Service Type, select “Full-Day”.

2. Choose the days of the week on which your service is available.
Multi-Day Slot Configuration
Ideal for services like hotel or homestay bookings, multi-day equipment rentals, retreat packages, or anything requiring a start and end date.
What your customers will see: Customers pick a start and end date.

How to set multi-day slots
1. Under Service Type, select “Multi-Day”.

2. Choose the days of the week when the service is available.
3. Set the minimum and maximum number of days customers can book.
4. Enable “Allow your customers to book non-consecutive days” if you want to let your customers book multiple days in a random order.
5. Set how the multi-day pricing is calculated:
- Price based on default quantity
- Price based on days booked
- Price based on quantity multiplied by days
