You can create services in BookX by linking products, setting up booking slots, managing availability, and configuring additional booking options.
Follow the steps below to create a service for your products.
Create a new service

1. Go to the Services page of the BookX app.
2. Click “Create new service”.
Step 1: Product selection

1. Go to “Services” and click “Create New Service”.
2. Set the name for your service.
3. Select “Create service with product”.
4. Search the products or click “Add product” to add products to the service.
5. Select the product(s) you want to include and click “Select”.
6. Enter your email address to receive booking notifications.
7. Click “Next” to continue to Slot configuration.
Step 2: Slot configuration

Choose how customers will book your service.
1. Select your service type:
- Regular: Book time-based slots (e.g., 30 mins, 45 mins, 1 hour)
- Full-day: Book an entire day
- Multi-day: Book for multiple days
- Bundle booking: Book multiple slots in a single booking.
2. Set block out date & time to prevent booking on specific dates or times.

3. Click “Next” to move to Location & team member.
Step 3: Location & team member

You can optionally assign locations and team members to your service.
1. Click “Add location”, select the location(s) and click “Add”.
2. Click “Add team member”, select the team member(s) and click “Add”.
3. After adding locations and team members, click “Next” to move to Availability settings.
Step 4: Availability settings

This section controls how and when customers can book your service.
1. Advance booking time (Optional): Set a minimum lead time to prevent last-minute bookings and give you time to prepare.
2. Booking Window (Optional): Define how far in advance customers can book and set the maximum product quantity per booking.
3. Capacity (Optional) & Slot visibility rules (Optional) : Set capacity limits to control the number of bookings per slot and manage slot visibility rules.
4. Reschedule & cancel booking (Optional): Allow customers to cancel or reschedule their bookings.
5. Optional reservation (Optional): Allow customers to reserve the booking or skip the booking and order directly.
6. Customer information (Optional): Add custom fields to collect additional customer details such as preferences or special requirements.
Once you set your availability settings, click “Next” to move to Seasonal pricing.
Step 5: Seasonal pricing

You can set different prices based on dates, time slots, demand, or availability.
1. Click “Add pricing” and select Basic pricing rule or Advanced pricing rule.
2. Set the condition, select the products the pricing rule applies to, and enter the price.
3. Click “Add” and click “Next” to Payment & deposit.
Step 6: Payment & deposit

Configure how customers will pay for the service and whether a deposit is required.
1. Choose the payment method customers must use when booking:
- Full payment
- Partial payment
- Book now, pay later
Note: At least one payment method must be enabled for the service.
2. You can also enable a refundable security deposit to collect an upfront amount and confirm the booking.
3. After configuring payment settings, click “Next” to continue to Review & publish..

Step 7: Review & Publish

In this final step, review your service configuration before making it live.
You’ll see a summary of all sections you configured.
- Click “Edit” next to any section if you need to make changes.
- When everything looks correct, click “Publish & Review in Store”.
Your service is now live in BookX. Click “View in store” to see how the service appears on your storefront.
